October is Virginia Wine Month and we're celebrating with plenty of well-loved local and state vintages. Plan to include one of these opportunities this month when you visit Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County.

Rockbridge Vineyard | Raphine

Celebrating their 32nd Annual Harvest Festival this year on October 4, Rockbridge Vineyard has produced many award-winning wines. A farm winery, their tasting room is found along one side of a classic Shenandoah Valley bank barn with adjacent silos that people love to photograph. Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday and Monday Noon to 5 p.m.

Lexington Valley Vineyard is a boutique winery in Rockbridge County open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Be sure to try their Norton, a Virginia favorite crafted from the notable heirloom Norton grape.

Jump Mountain Vineyard | Rockbridge Baths

European style wines flow from this small family farm winery. So named for its view of Jump Mountain and the micro climate it helps create in the valley, Jump Mountain Vineyard is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Great Valley Farm Brewery & Winery | Natural Bridge

A prominent destination for great beer, wine, and scenery, Great Valley Farm Brewery & Winery is celebrating Virginia Wine Month the same way they celebrate every other month: great flavors and live music. Food trucks and musicians are a highlight of each weekend, so pay attention to their social feeds for all the pertinent information. Great Valley is open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
