VIRGINIA CIDER WEEK
Get an early start with crafting gifts and take care of yourself while you're at it. Boxerwood Nature Center is hosting an Eco Printing Workshop and Yoga Session November 3 at 3:00 pm. The cost is $20 for members and $35 for non-members. Reservations are required.
Launch into the holiday season with an early shopping opportunity. The Rockbridge Hunt Holiday Craft Show will be held November 16 at the Virginia Horse Center.
Join in the merriment of the Candlelight Processional and Tree Lighting on Friday, November 29. Gather together in front of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery to walk by candlelight through downtown Lexington, singing carols all the while. Your end point is Hopkins Green, where the community Christmas tree will be waiting to be lit.
Mark a few names off your gift-giving list when you shop downtown Lexington. One great incentive to do so is the annual Love Lex Lotto, wherein shoppers collect stamps from participating retailers to complete a card. Return a full card for a chance to win a $1,000 downtown shopping spree. Love Lex Lotto runs from November 29 to December 24.
Prior to Thanksgiving and in the good spirit of insuring others have a nice Thanksgiving, stop by Devils Backbone Outpost Tap Room & Kitchen November 7th to help contribute to the Rockbridge Community Table Thanksgiving Supper. The Stuff the Turkey Fundraising Event will include live music. A portion of beer and food sales will go to the Community Table. Cash and non-perishable food donations will be accepted.
Get a head start on beating the side effects of tryptophan when you come out for the Annual Gobble Wobble 5K and Fun Run in Lexington. This tradition - now in its 8th year - occurs the morning of Thanksgiving Day.

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT
The Rockbridge Symphony Fall Concert will be held November 2 at Lexington Presbyterian Church and feature Copland's Billy the Kid, Smetana's Moldau, and more. Tickets are available online and at the door.
"We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!" Join the Rockbridge Ballet along the yellow brick road to be reminded "there's no place like home." Performances will be held November 15, 16, and 17 at VMI's Gillis Theater.
Sunday's are Jazz Night at Haywood's in downtown Lexington. From 5 to 9 p.m. you can enjoy specialty cocktails while area musicians create a smooth jazz atmosphere. Ask about the nightly drink and dinner specials.
'Tis the season for concerts and plays, and together, Southern Virginia University and Washington and Lee University are offering a variety to choose from. Take note of these for your calendar:
