If you've always been intrigued by the Marshall Plan, you won't want to miss Dr. Barry Machado's presentation at the George C. Marshall Museum on February 22. Entitled "New Light on the Origins of the Marshall Plan," Dr. Machado will unveil "what made Secretary Marshall tick" between 1947 and 1949, which sheds light on how the European Recovery Program came about.
Speaking of Marshall, don't forget to check out "Hope for Those Who Need It," the new exhibit celebrating the Marshall Plan. Included in the exhibit are the 25 original lithographs from the Marshall Plan poster competition held in 1950. More than 10,000 entries were received from European artists. 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the Marshall Plan being signed into law.
February's key family fun is Broncs, Bulls & Barrels, Lexington's rodeo event at the Virginia Horse Center. Round up your tickets for action on February 23 and 24.
