Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County Businesses Join PACT Against COVID-19
LEXINGTON, VA (June 22, 2020) – Hospitality businesses in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County are pledging to safeguard their employees and patrons against novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by signing on to a hospitality pledge.
Tourism is one of the most resilient sectors and is vital to economic recovery. Tourism related businesses were also the first to feel the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. To help travelers feel safe as they begin to resume their lives with vacations and business travel, as well as hasten the financial recovery of local businesses, Rockbridge Regional Tourism has created PACT, a pledge to safeguard both employees and customers against the spread of COVID-19. Retailers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, and other hospitality businesses are encouraged to embrace the pledge ensuring visitors will experience a consistent, dependable, and sustained level of safety and service.
“PACT is a free and voluntary hospitality pledge that shows the dedication our businesses are taking to combat the spread of COVID-19,” says Patty Williams, Director of Marketing for Rockbridge Area Tourism. “From offering free masks and hand sanitizer to creating new positions to oversee sanitation inside of a business, our PACT partners are going above and beyond six-foot distancing and curbside service to create safer environments for workers and guests.”
Identifying a PACT participant is easy. Look for the PACT logo in storefront windows and on the floor inside. Additionally, a map and directory of businesses can be found at LexingtonVirginia.com/PACT. Businesses interested in participating in PACT can begin the process at LexingtonVirginia.com/articles/pact-partners.
PACT will remain in place through the end of 2020 and most likely into 2021 as economic recovery is gauged in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County.
