In conjunction with the Africana Studies Program and Washington and Lee University's Department of Special Collections, the History Department will host a reception in Professor DeLaney's honor at the upcoming Young Alumni Reunion, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. in the Special Collections Reading Room of Leyburn Library.

The public is invited to attend in person but must be masked regardless of vaccine status in compliance with W&L's Covid-19 guidelines.

After brief introductions to Professor DeLaney's remarkable career, his recently edited oral history memoir, "Conversations with Ted DeLaney," and other related materials in Special Collections, those in attendance will be invited to share their recollections of this revered member of the W&L and Lexington communities.

The public may access the "Conversations" at go.wlu.edu/ted-talks. On the Theodore DeLaney catalog page, scroll down to "Recent Submissions." There you will find links to videos, transcriptions and other materials in the collection. If you encounter difficulties, contact Digital Scholarship Librarian Paula S.
