Friday, June 9th, the Shester, Datz, and Newhall Bluegrass Trio return to Boxerwood’s Music in the Garden Series.
6:30-8:00 pm. Gate opens at 6:00. No earlybirds, please.

Blake Shester, Burr Datz, and Dan Newhall have performed together for many public and private events since 2011. They play an entertaining mix of traditional, contemporary, and progressive Bluegrass with a high lonesome three-part harmony that will melt your face. Blake Shester has been playing banjo since he was fifteen years old and has performed in a variety of bands in California, Tennessee, and Virginia. Dan Newhall lives in Zack, Va. and has been a bass player since 1964, playing and singing bluegrass, old-time, folk, and country music, currently with Datz Us Ramblers, New Corner Grocery, Greenhouse, and others. Burr Datz has been learning guitar since 1961, performing in a variety of bands since then in a variety of musical genres: blues, country, old-time, and bluegrass. Currently he performs with the Datz Us Ramblers and Greenhouse.

TICKETS + FOOD
Adults are $5 each at the gate (cash or check). Boxerwood members are free with annual membership. Under 18 are always free.
Bring your own picnic, or LexMex Taco food truck will be there for purchase.

LOCATION
The field at Boxerwood Nature Center and Woodland Garden. From Lexington, take Ross Road from Jackson Avenue about 1 mile. Turn left onto Munger Lane (gravel road) and follow to the end. Parking in the field.

This is a smoke-free, family friendly event. This is also a zero-waste event—pack out any trash you bring in and reuse or recycle whenever possible.
