Natural Bridge State Park was designated an International Dark Sky Park in April 2021, possessing an exceptional quality of starry nights and a nocturnal environment that is specifically protected for its scientific, natural, educational, cultural heritage, and/or public enjoyment.
Self-Guided Dark Sky Night Hikes
Tuesday Nights, March 18-December 13, 2023
On Tuesday nights from dusk to 11 p.m., you’re invited to come experience the night sky at your own leisure at Skyline Trail.
– Star charts are available at the informational kiosks at the Skyline Trail parking lot or at the visitor center for your use.
– Bring your own equipment, such as telescopes and binoculars, which must be carried under your own power on the trail.
If you purchased park admission earlier in the day, please retain your receipt and place it on your dashboard as proof of admission to the self-guided Dark Sky program. If you did not purchase park admission on the same day, then the $5/vehicle fee can be paid at the parking lot self-serve kiosk.
NOTE: This is a self-guided program. Located on the Skyline Trail (hike to Jefferson Point for best views) at Natural Bridge State Park. Please leave the park by 11 p.m., remember to practice Leave No Trace, and drive home carefully.
