If you're pining for views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you can help us maintain the longest trail in the park this National Trails Day!

This trail features the Red Knob overlook, the highest point in the park and the only place in it you can see both the Blue Ridge and Alleghany Mountains at the same time. Volunteer crews will work to cut weeds, remove downed tree limbs, and clear trash along this trail that takes you through wooded ridgelines populated by deer, turkeys, and foxes. Along this less frequented trail, you'll find traces of all these animals and more, as well as great vantage points for spotting the peaks nearby.
