The Forge of Civilization—The Campfire

Have you ever considered: why do we have campfires? What is so special about them? Long ago, they were the focal point of our ancestors on every corner of the globe, whether in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, or Australia. They were where families and communities joined, leading to the development of countries, kingdoms, and empires. We will explore the place of campfires in society and why they are still important today.

Guests who participate will have to pay the $ 8-day use fee or buy an annual pass from the United States Forestry Service. Those camping at Cave Mountain Lake will not have to pay an extra fee.

Please park near the first large day-use parking area. The campfire will be held near here at the community campfire pit. Cave Mountain Lake asks that all day-use visitors leave before 10:00 pm.
