Children's Discovery Area

The Children's Discovery Area at Natural Bridge State Park is an outdoor experiential area for families to have fun enjoying nature. There are two trail components:

The Kids in Parks Track Trail is a 0.6 mile hike where families can select four self-guided brochures which teach about pollinators, birds of the Blue Ridge, animals that may be seen in the park and how nature can hide and seek. This trail offers views of the Blue Ridge Mountains atop Jefferson Point.

The Nature Explore Outdoor Play Area consists of multiple play and learning spaces for children. Areas such as “Poplar Art,” “Fun in the Field,” and “Can You Dig It?” provide children and their families a new space within Natural Bridge State Park for learning about and enjoying the outdoors.
