Buena Vista Visitor Center

Did you know Buena Vista, VA got its name when some of the locally forged iron was used for cannonballs in the Mexican-American War? Or that the city itself was born from a land boom, driven by an abundance of natural resources and plans for two railroads to meet here? An 1888 prospectus even opened with a quote from George Washington, who praised the region as “the garden of America.”

Learn more about the history at the NEW Buena Vista Visitor Center. Located downtown at the Virginia Innovation Accelerator it’s the perfect place to stretch your legs, discover local flavor, and set out on your next outdoor adventure.
