Cheers to a New Year!

Send the year out with a bang when you plan to attend a New Year's Eve party or watch Lexington's very own ball drop on December 31. Then, start the new year off right with an excursion into the great outdoors.

New Year's Eve

The First Night Lexington event on Main Street features a countdown clock and ball drop at midnight on December 31. Set atop the Robert E. Lee Hotel, the twinkling ball makes its way down a pole just in time for a new year's kiss beneath a shower of confetti.

Prior to the ball drop at the Robert E. Lee Hotel there's a Mardi Gras party in the ballroom and a special dining opportunity at Rocca Ristorante & Bar on the second floor. For those who wish to stay the night, packages to include all of the above are available.

Haywood's

Down the street from the ball drop Haywood's will be offering a festive evening of fine dining and piano performance. Warm up inside after midnight with desserts. While there isn't a specific New Year's Eve package at The Georges, you are certainly welcome to retire for the night at downtown Lexington's historic boutique hotel.

At Natural Bridge Historic Hotel & Conference Center, the annual dinner and dance will be in full swing through midnight. They, too, have overnight packages available that will include breakfast on New Year's Day.

New Year's Day

Natural Bridge State Park is hosting First Day Hikes on January 1. It's an excellent time to see the iconic limestone arch and #GetOutside in Rockbridge County.

Additional hikes to consider on New Year's Day are the Chessie Trail and Woods Creek Trail. We also like Boxerwood Nature Center & Woodland Gardens, especially with children!
