Event Description

"Stories from the Past ... Voices for Today."

On Thursday, May 21 (5:30 PM), a trio of Washington & Lee University Theatre students from their Community-Based Learning class on "Immersive Theater in Civic Spaces" will transform Oak Grove Cemetery into a living space of memory and storytelling. In partnership with the Rockbridge Historical Society, they've developed original monologues drawing from archival research, local history, and embodied performance techniques, in order to portray notable and lesser-known figures from 18th-19th-20th century Lexington, exploring history, place, and public memory.

Supported by the Rockbridge Historical Society, Rockbridge250, and the W&L Office of Community-Based Learning, the one-night only performance is free and open to the public. For more, see RHS Instagram and Facebook.
