Nat Bersett, bass, is a music major from New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. He will begin his senior recital with the fiery aria, "Sorge infausta una procella" from the Handel opera, Orlando. Four selections from "Schwanengesang," a set of fourteen songs composed by Franz Schubert and published after his death, will follow. After singing Gian Francesco's lyrically pleading aria, "Si la riguer et la vengeance" from Halévy's opera, "La Juive", Bersett will perform the Lexington premiere of the cycle, "As the Universe Expands" by Australian composer, Glyn Lehmann. The recital will conclude with a set of songs by Finnish composer, Toivo Kuula. He is a student of Dr. Gregory Parker.
