The Formidable, Inspirational Appalachian Trail
AUGUST 24, 2017 -- John M. Smith of Belleville News hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail (AT) and wrote of his experience and research in an opinion piece. During his stop at the Punch Bowl Shelter, Smith met "Blood Mountain," a thru-hiker who started the 2,200-mile journey in March and aimed to complete it in September.
