Rich History and Restorative Beauty

MAY 2026 -- World Bride Magazine contributor Myrdith Leon McCormack raved after a fall getaway to Rockbridge County, stating, "there are places you visit - and then there are places that restore you. My fall escape was exactly that: a breath of fresh air wrapped in history, nature, and heartfelt hospitality."

The trip experiences that left a lasting impact included our natural assets: the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, James River, and of course, Natural Bridge State Park. The stay included The Georges, dinner at Haywood's, breakfast at Lexington Coffee Shop (temporarily closed), and museum-hopping through downtown Lexington. McCormack called the "Unheard Voices of Black Lexington" map "impactful" and "an essential and moving addition to Lexington's historical experience."
