Description

This trip is offered by Wilderness Canoe Company (WCC). After being dropped off at Alpine with your boat and gear, your adventure begins immediately with a class II rapid. You will encounter many class I and several class II rapids on your journey back to WCC.

Along the way the river borders the George Washington National Forest for several miles, allowing opportunities to stop and explore, relax and even camp. This is unique to this stretch of river.

This trip takes most people 3.5 to 4 hours to complete. But because you are paddling back to WCC where your car is parked, you can take your time and enjoy the scenery. Have a picnic on the river bank, swim, fish and relax.
