Guided Nature Hike at Uncas Trail

Event Description

Join TNC's Allegheny Highlands Restoration Technician, Caleb Haynes, for a guided nature hike at the Uncas Trail in Lexington, VA. The trail is a 1.5-mile hike through woods on an old road bed with views of the Maury River and the mountains beyond. The trailhead and informational kiosk are located at the parking area near the Lexington City Shops (890 Shop Road).

Explore nature, learn about The Nature Conservancy, and make wildlife observations as you hike! This event is part of City Nature Challenge 2026. The City Nature Challenge is a friendly four-day competition between cities (and rural areas) all over the world to see which one can observe the most nature. Make observations using the iNaturalist app from April 24-27 2026 to participate. Follow the Allegheny & Shenandoah Mountains project and help make this year a success!
