Revolutionary Books, 1776-2026: "The Greatest Sentence Ever Written"

On March 25 (6 PM, Piovano Room, Lexington Public Library), join the Rockbridge Historical Society for its next gathering of REVOLUTIONARY BOOKS, 1776-2026, the fifth in its 3-year series commemorating two and a half centuries of American Evolution in the United States and Rockbridge County.

Capping RHS' month-long focus on Thomas Jefferson, Walter Isaacson’s “The Greatest Sentence Ever Written” explores the historical contexts and contemporary civic ideals voiced in the Declaration of Independence's assertions of our inherent rights to "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

At a sleek and fitting 76 pages, copies of Isaacson's book can be previewed online.
