Event Description

Discover the Art of Traditional Stone Carving at The Workshop at Timber Ridge!

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the fundamentals of stone carving using time-honored hand tools. In just two and a half hours, you'll gain experience with the three essential tools of the trade, and learn how to carve both lettering and a simple low-relief design.

No prior experience is needed — beginners welcome!

All materials, including tools and stone, are provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes for safety.

The workshop will be held outdoors under some shade and a canopy in the event of a little drizzle. In the case of very bad weather in the forecast, we will have a rain date on Saturday, 3/21. Each student will leave with their very own carved stone creation!

This workshop is limited to 8. Each student will get plenty of personal attention.

This workshop is a prerequisite for Bethany’s Sculptural Carving Retreat in late April.
