Bring the family to honor our Veterans at this special Veterans Day Parade on November 11th 2025, at 10:30 AM in downtown Lexington. Rain or Shine!
WALK IN THE PARADE
Calling all VETERANS! If you served in the Regular, Reserve or National Guard military...YOU ARE CONSIDERED A VETERAN and are invited to walk in the Parade with your family.
CEREMONY & FESTIVITIES
Starting at Oak Grove Cemetery the parade will stop at the Rockbridge Veterans Memorial next to the Old Courthouse on Main Street.
- Grand Marshall Mark Cline—A.K.A. "Uncle Sam"—will lead the parade accompanied by antique military vehicles, floats and fun.
- 650+ school children carrying flags and balloons.
- Waddell Elementary 5th graders will sing patriotic songs with music played by both High School and VMI bands.
- Keynote address by VMI Superintendent, Lt.Gen. David Furness.
- Attending dignitaries include Governor Glenn Youngkin, Congressman Ben Cline, Mayor Frank Friedman plus other area political representatives.
Help commemorate the 25th anniversary of the dedication of the Rockbridge Area Veterans Memorial, the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, and the 100th anniversary of the receipt of the captured German WWI cannon given to Rockbridge County in honor of veterans who fought in WWI.
