At 10 a.m., explore the sinkholes and pine forests of Buck Hill Trail while learning about the unique karst topography of the region and the interesting forests that sit on top. Rangers will lead the hike around the entire 2 mile length of the moderately difficult Buck Hill Trail, so bring plenty of water and some sturdy shoes. Meets at Buck Hill Trail Head, in the picnic area near the Natural Bridge Caverns.
At 5 p.m., close out the day with a short hike to Jefferson Point to enjoy one of the best views in the park. Rangers will be on hand to teach guests about some of the fascinating history of the park, from the gorge of Cedar Creek to the rolling hills of lower Shenandoah Valley. This is a one mile hike up and down some gentle hills, please wear appropriate shoes and bring water. Hike will meet at Group Camp parking area on Golf Course Road.
