COVID-19 Updates

Thank you for researching the impacts of COVID-19 on Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County.

After more than a year at home, many of us are ready for new experiences. At the same time, we need to be aware of the potential risk for our families while providing real and memorable experiences.

PACT-Protecting All Citizens and Travelers – is a series of protocols and best practices adopted by hospitality businesses, thereby committing to provide you with a consistent, dependable, and sustained level of safety and service.

Travel Guidance

Virginians and visitors to the Commonwealth remain advised to wash hands regularly, maintain a six-foot distance of others if not vaccinated, and be tested immediately if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

Currently, the Virginia Department of Health recommends the following actions with regard to domestic travel:

  • Get tested 1-3 days before travel if you're not fully vaccinated
  • Get tested 3-5 days after travel and stay home (quarantine) for 5 days if you're not fully vaccinated
  • Self-monitor for symptoms regardless of vaccination status
  • Wear a mask and take other precautions during travel regardless of vaccination status

The current CDC guidelines with regard to travel are as follows:

  • Masks that cover your nose and mouth are required for those traveling on planes, buses, trains, and other public transportation.
  • Travel should be delayed until you are fully vaccinated.
  • Do not travel if you have been exposed to COVID-19, are sick, or have tested positive for COVID-19.

Visitor Centers

Beginning July 3, 2020:

  • Lexington Visitor Center is open to the public daily 11am-3pm. The administrative office will continue regular weekday operations.
  • Buena Vista Visitor Center is open to the public Friday-Sunday 11am-3pm.
  • Natural Bridge State Park Information Desk is staffed Friday-Sunday 11am-3pm.
