Sleepy little college town? Anything but! There are many places to enjoy live music in and around Lexington, if you know where to look.
Brew Ridge Taps is a space dedicated to all things craft beer. Stop in most Saturday nights and you'll find a band tearing it up. The last Monday of the month is a dedicated Open Mic Night. If you have the skills, pick up the mic and go.
Relax with a small plate and glass of wine at Haywood's Piano Bar while a talented musician tickles the ivories.
Three or four times per month (when it's warm), music breaks out at Pure Eats. Enjoy your locally-sourced meal outside under an umbrella while a local band entertains.

Friday's Alive (pictured) is the free weekly summer concert series held in Davidson Park near the Visitor Center on Washington Street. Food and beverage vendors are on hand. Just bring your blanket and chill for a while.

NIGHTLIFE AROUND LEXINGTON
If you've never visited Virginia's natural wonder, the Natural Bridge Park, it's high time you did. Saturday nights are made for Natural Bridge Live, a summer music series held at the Summerhouse Pavilion with the awesome bridge as a backdrop.
Buena Vista also offers a Friday night summer series. Held at Glen Maury Park, it's called Friday's in the Park. Bring a chair to gather under the pavilion and sing and dance the night away.
Lime Kiln Theater has a become a summer nightlife tradition. The truly unique lime kiln stage delivers a memorable concert experience no matter which group is playing.
Head out to Devils Backbone Outpost Brewery for Live Fridays, an end-of-the-week event with a musician or band in the tap room.
